Sculpture from Scrap
© Copyright Second River StudioThrough the play of collecting and sculpting, students will learn how to integrate materials and ideas into narrative 3-dimensional forms. Participants combine architectural fragments and other objects using adhesives and fasteners, shaping where necessary. Creative thinking and working from the heart are primary goals.

Thinking Inside the Box: Stories from Scrap Weekend Workshop
If you are inspired by the art of Cornell, Schwitters and Westerman, this workshop will appeal to you. Participants transform a found box or drawer into a low relief sculpture that tells a story by combining collage techniques, Xerox transfer, and small collected objects into a piece of art that joins collage with sculpture. Supplies needed: bring printed imagery/photos, unusual papers, collected objects and a small wood or thin metal box. A $5 materials fee is payable to the instructor. To prepare, think about a theme or topic that you would like to express within the box. To register go to www.theartleague.org.
